Cavena has a history in Broadcasting starting in the mid eighties. At that time Cavena was a reseller for various broadcast products of which Scantitling was one. 1995 the technical team presented its first in-house developed and designed products, STC (Subtitle Transmission Control) and SAM (Subtitling Archive and Management). With these products as a base the company became more interesting for customers around the globe.

1997 proved to be yet another important year due to the first installation of DVB system at Star TV in Hong Kong. Being in the technical front edge and fast on its feet, Cavena started to develop a new product platform and could in 2000 launch several sought after products such as: STU (Subtitling Transfer Unit), Toolbox, S-MUX and the preparation station Tempo. In 2003 YLE in Finland became Cavena's first customer in Europe for DVB subtitling. During the following years many customers including Canal+ in France and BSkyB in UK have chosen the Cavena subtitling solutions for their transition to HD.

Cavena Image Products AB (Cavena) has headquarters in Täby, just outside Stockholm, Sweden. Cavena is a privately held company with dedicated and committed staff. Cavena is designing, programming, testing and building systems for all subtitling applications. All design work is made in-house by our R&D team.

Cavena is a leading manufacturer of subtitling systems, with a worldwide base of installed systems receiving support from local distributors with back-up from the support team in Sweden. Cavena provides state of the art subtitling solutions for everyone, from the free-lance subtitle translator to the multiple channel playout-centre.

The Cavena subtitling systems are language independent and subtitles can be edited and transmitted in any language including more complex languages such as Chinese, Japanese etc.
