The Cimpress is integrated into the Cavena Subtitling system and is controlled by the STU, Subtitle Transmission Unit via an IP connection. The STU receives time code from the Cimpress and sends pre-rendered subtitles to the Cimpress for insertion into the video with frame accuracy.
There is one SD/SDI video input to Cimpress and dual separate outputs. Each group of two outputs can have one or up to four graphic layers inserted. It is therefore possible to subtitle one program with two different languages keyed on to the image and presented on separate outputs. In addition each output can have a separate logo inserted. The 19", 1 R.U. rack unit houses one unit but as an option two units can be installed in a single rack enclosure thus minimizing the space required.
Cimpress can insert VBI teletext to the SD signal. Cimpress can also be used to read teletext subtitles from video, for transcoding by STU to various formats, including re-insertion as in-vision in Cimpress.
